7 Productive Things to Do During the Holiday Slowdown
When things get quiet in late December, it’s tempting to check out completely, or get stuck doom-scrolling because you're too tired to plan. But that downtime? It’s golden.
Here’s how to use it wisely without burning yourself out:
1. Review your client onboarding experience
Ask yourself: Is it clear? Automated? Welcoming? Even small tweaks, like a better welcome email or simplified intake form, can make a big difference.
2. Update your bios and website
Add your latest offers, refresh outdated info, and review your “About” section. If someone found you today, would they know what you do?
3. Set 2–3 Q1 goals
Forget a giant vision board. Pick a couple of clear, measurable goals that align with where you actually want to go next.
4. Clean out your digital tools
Delete old Trello boards, clear unused Google Docs, and archive outdated email campaigns. Start the year without clutter.
5. Plan your January content
Map out 3-5 content ideas for next month, then outline your captions, topics, or emails while you’re in planning mode.
6. Polish your templates
Clean up your contracts, proposals, or canned email responses so they’re ready to go when business picks up again.
7. Organize your calendar
Block off time for deep work, client calls, and admin. Protect your focus by pre-scheduling the flow you want.
Before you head into January, ask:
- Are my systems ready to support me, or stress me out?
- Is my content and client experience where it should be?
- What could I hand off to someone else next year?
